The Digital Development Centre participated in the MineShow at the Railway Historical Park
Colleagues from the Digital Development Centre of Széchenyi István University participated in the MineShow event held in the Budapest Railway Historical Park, which aimed to give children a day full of fun and exploration of the digital world through exciting educational and gaming programmes and engaging stage performances. The Digital Development Centre's staff reached out to many young people through drone football demonstrations and brought them closer to Győr and the world of modern technological innovations.
The weekend was of special significance for the colleagues of the Digital Development Centre, as they were invited to the MineShow, the biggest Hungarian Minecraft event, held in the Railway Historical Park. The aim was clear: to engage, raise awareness and interest in technology among young people through the exciting world of drone football and e-sports innovations.
As part of the MineShow, the organisers paid special attention to the participation of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and many of the children’s homes visited by the Kucko Volunteer Programme also attended the event.
Drone football was particularly popular and provided a great opportunity to introduce children to this futuristic sport. It was not just about having fun, but also about our colleagues demonstrating the diversity of opportunities offered by digital technology and raising their interest in the further education and development opportunities offered by Győr and Széchenyi István University.
Throughout the weekend’s events, the Digital Development Centre was keen to bring technological innovation closer to young people, especially those who may be less likely to be exposed to such opportunities due to their disadvantaged situation.
Our aim is to build a bridge between Széchenyi István University, Győr and the digital future, and to continue this work with similar enthusiasm in the future.
