The First Ministry of Interior Drone Cup was organised with the help of DDC colleagues
On 7 October, the First Ministry of Interior Drone Cup took place in Remeteszőlős, Hungary, co-organised by the Hungarian Science and Innovation Management Foundation, the Hungarian Ministry of Interior Science Council, the Digital Development Centre of Széchényi István University and Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt.
The drone pilots of the national bodies of the internal affairs sector and three bodies outside the sector, the National Tax and Customs Administration, the Parliamentary Guard and the National Association of Civil Guards, competed in the competition tasks set by DDC in Remeteszőlős.
The event was the first time that the competing teams compared their professional and practical skills in the field of drone flying. The exercises were set up with the help of DDC colleagues and started with a series of thirty questions. During the various tasks, our colleagues explained the rules and timeframe to the drone pilots, who were assigned to teams of six, and then the scouts took their positions in the exciting challenge areas.
In the Capture the Flag mission, teams had to find and collect flags of specific colours, then head to the ROKK RKA Training Course to search for the missing person, followed by a complicated drone obstacle course to score points. The event was commentated by Zoltán Szujó, who added to the quality of the event with his professional knowledge.
At the Drone Cup, visitors had the opportunity to try out an exciting dog show, drone flying and drone football provided by the Digital Development Centre, among other things.
Third place on the podium and the special prize for the best drone pilot, the special award of the Minister of the Interior Dr. Sándor Pintér, was also won by the National Directorate General of Civil Protection, which also entered two teams in the Drone Cup. The Parliamentary Guard came in second place, while the National Ambulance Service took first place.
Congratulations to all participants and winners!
We are also particularly pleased that we were able to contribute to the high quality of the 1st Home Affairs Drone Cup with our professional support in the development of the competition tasks and the organisation of the event.
