American Inspiration, Hungarian Innovation – Digital Developments at the Race is On Challenge Day

Széchenyi István University’s Digital Development Center presented two in-house developed solutions – including the GPS-based boat tracking device already proven at the Kékszalag sailing race – at the Race is On Innovation Challenge Day held at the Science Park. The event was organized by the USA Accelerator to strengthen U.S.–Hungarian relations.

On June 6, a special atmosphere filled Széchenyi István University’s Science Park during the Race is On Innovation Challenge Day, offering another opportunity to experience innovation, inspiration, and international collaboration firsthand. The event was organized by the USA Accelerator office, with the goal of bringing the American and Hungarian innovation ecosystems even closer together.

At the event, Széchenyi István University’s Digital Development Center (DDC) was also present, showcasing two outstanding developments. One of them debuted live during the 2024 56th Kékszalag Raiffeisen Grand Prix sailing race: a GPS-based boat tracking device developed in collaboration with Magyar Telekom. The second innovation was an eye-tracking diagnostic device that helps detect symptoms of stroke and vertigo-related conditions by analyzing pupil movements, thus supporting medical diagnostics.

Among the guests were representatives from American university partners – including the University of Central Florida and Stetson University – who provided encouraging feedback, reinforcing the potential for future collaboration. The goal of the day was not only to showcase innovations but also to build international connections and prepare for market entry in the United States.

For the Digital Development Center, participation provided more than just a platform for visibility – it offered fresh momentum to develop new international partnerships.

We would like to thank the USA Accelerator team and all contributing partners for the invitation, the trust, and the support. The future of innovation starts now.
